LOVEIN Sicily, luxury proposals and elopements

Photography

Salvo shoots every commission himself.

Not a subcontractor, not a rotating list of freelancers. The person who plans the hour is the person standing there with the camera, which is the only reason the timing works.

How he works

At a distance, and then closer.

For a proposal he arrives as a stranger. He works from the far side of a path or a stretch of coast, where a photographer is an ordinary thing to see, and your partner sees the water and you rather than a production. Afterwards, once you have both stopped shaking, he comes over and introduces himself. For a ceremony he is inside it from the start, but nobody is positioned and nothing is asked for twice.

Why the hour matters more than the lens

Everything here is shot in the last light.

Sicilian limestone throws warmth back for longer than most Mediterranean stone, which stretches the usable window past what a weather app would suggest. In July it opens around half past seven. In October it has moved to quarter past five. Midday sun on faces is the fastest way to make an expensive day look like a phone snapshot, so we do not schedule anything that matters into it.

What arrives, and when

Edited, sequenced, inside three weeks.

You receive a gallery, not a folder. The day is ordered as it happened: the waiting, the moment, the quiet afterwards. Colour is graded warm and film-like, blacks lifted rather than crushed, skin left as skin. Nothing is smoothed into plastic and nothing is retouched into somebody else.

The photographs on this site are the whole argument

They are real days, real couples, published with permission. Look properly, then tell us what you are imagining.
